In History this term, Year 3 have been focusing on the British Colonisation of Australia. As part of their research inquiry and culmination to this unit of work, the students took part in a walking tour of the historic site of The Rocks.
The students heard many aspects of this story, including the impact on the Eora, the indigenous peoples who lived around the foreshores at this time.
They viewed many images that helped bring early Sydney town to life, along with the narrative skills of our guides, Sally and Vickie.
In addition, each student was given a costume of either a convict or a soldier, together with the real identity of a significant person.
It was a great learning day. We are particularly grateful for the dads and mums who were able to come and help us on our excursion.
